I have had positive experiences when interacting with and asking questions of both Dr. Mabry and Dr. Kemps. Audrey does a great job for my cleanings as well. Just a note: this office tends to have their schedule booked out pretty far out.

Never have to wait, friendly staff, full exam/cleaning. Office is well run! Both dentists have great bedside manner as do the hygienists. Great office and medical staff! They all seem to love their jobs and it comes through to patients in their positive attitudes and demeanor!! I was pleasantly surprised to be called by my first name when I walked into the waiting room, before even checking in. That was a little thing, but very meaningful to me. At no other doctor’s office has that ever happened to me where they recognize me just by my face. Only challenge is that it’s difficult to get an appointment (or reschedule if needed) if you don’t plan well in advance. As long as you schedule in advance and don’t have to reschedule, you’re all set. Strong recommend!

2025 update - my last few cleanings have been the least annoying/least painful experiences (and it's not that I'm getting better at flossing), it's because the hygienists are just good at what they do! I recommend them. I've been seeing Dr Mabry for years- he has fixed several failing "silver" fillings over the years and a chipped tooth that hasn't given me problems since he fixed it. I keep coming back because the hygienists are so nice and give relatively painless cleanings. I left Virginia for a few years and when I came back, I also returned to Mabry Dental. My school-aged daughter sees Dr. Kemp and has no complaints about pain during visits, so that's a huge win from my perspective.

Had two different procedures -- two crowns and a filling -- in one session, and all went smoothly: Dr. Mabry is the very best dentist around!

I moved to the DC area several years ago, and chose Dr Mabry as my dentist because he had such "wonderful" reviews. I dont think he is so "wonderful" any more. He checked my mouth after a routine hygiene teeth cleaning, and said I have a cavity under my bridge. He was quick with his diagnosis and seemed annoyed that I was asking questions about where exactly the cavity was. He recommended that I buy as much dental insurance as possible because it would take a lot of work to replace the bridge with an implant and two crowns. I was a little suspicious, so i went to another dentist. The new dentist probed and examined the entire bridge and could not find a cavity. He said to keep up with my dental care, keep an eye our for any changes, and get routines exams. THREE YEAR LATER the crown is still OK. Dr. Mabry tried to enrich himself by creating a dental issue that did not exist, and it did not matter to him that my mouth would be mutilated in the process. He tries his best to keep good bedside manners, but his impatience and annoyance shows when you ask "too many" questions. He has an arrogant frat boy energy about him. The young lady that is the hygienist is excellent. The receptionist that checks you out is always grumpy, and lastly be weary of their billing practices.
